The Government has released sh66m to support health centres in Mukono district, reports Nicholas Kajoba. Mrs. Lydia Kiwanuka, the LC5 secretary for finance, on Monday said the funds would be used to procure extra drugs. "Government has released sh66m to support health centres with procurement of supplementary drugs in order to top up the existing budget allocation of the drugs,'' she said. Kiwanuka said the Government would release an extra sh50m to Kawolo Hospital to supplement its sh50m drug budget. She said the district will construct five maternity units in Najja, Namuganga, Nabbale, Nyega and Kawolo at sh119m. She added that a total of 10 health units had also been supplied with laboratory equipment and 30 nurses trained. Ends
