Wakiso RDC blames LCs, teachers on UPE

By James Bakunzi WAKISO RDC Margaret Kasaija has criticised LC officials and headteachers for failing to monitor structures being constructed under the UPE scheme. She said many sub-standard structures including classrooms and toilets had been built in several schools "but the officials concerned just look on." She was addressing headteachers at Wakiso sub-county headquarters on Tuesday. "Some classrooms are falling apart because LCs and headteachers sign contracts without scrutinising the work done," she said. She warned that measures would be taken against those who are not vigilant enough. Ends
