By Catherine Kigozi PRESIDENT Yoweri Museveni is to meet soon with Kampala mayor Ssebaana Kizito to discuss the controversial presence of vendors on the city streets. The intervention follows a request from some vendors and boda-boda operates during a meeting with the President at his Rwakitura home on March 23. The group presented to him their grievances over street vending. Ms. Hope Kivengere, the President's Press Secretary, said Museveni had agreed to meet the two parties to discuss the matter. "Yes the President has promised to meet these people about the problem. They met him at Rwakitura and expressed their problems to him and he promised to look into it, but he has not yet specified when the meeting will convene," she said. She said the meeting will also discuss how the vendors can access money from the President's office. She said the meeting with KCC will help identify a place to which they can be relocated. But Ssebaana said he has not yet received an official communication about the meeting though he had heard about it. Ends
