By Douglas Mazune Renowned pool star Bob Minani had to grit his teeth to qualify for Nile Special national pool championship finals at Kaos yesterday. Fourteen players in the Kampala region qualifier made it to the final due August 17 at DV8 in Kampala. Adonnes Mafumo of Kireka pool nest shocked Minani with two games in quick succession to push the national star to the brink of defeat. A profusely sweating Minani leveled the score when inexperienced Mafumo’s poor finish that saw him (Mafumo) twice sink in the black ball where he could have ejected Minani. Minani went on to take the deciding game to get a berth in the national final on 3-2. Little Jengoman of Kireka pool nest pull off the upset of the event when he ejected Sam Wambuzi on Saturday. Alex Niyon went down fighting to Tiger Katto 2-3 in a tense encounter. Ends
