KAMPALA – The Electoral Commission is to spend over sh43b on the coming local council elections. Overall, the Commission has budgeted for sh53b in the 2001/2002 financial year. According to a 2001/2002 policy statement from the Attorney General, Francis Ayume, at least 1.1m people are to be elected on to the women, youth and local government councils. Ends
