NAJJA made a solid start as the national youth championship opened at Lugogo yesterday. The Najjanankumbi club bagged four points in the day’s preliminaries.

By Samson Opus NAJJA made a solid start as the national youth championship opened at Lugogo yesterday. The Najjanankumbi club bagged four points in the day’s preliminaries. Powerhouse Lukanga with an entry of 20 boxers was under pressure as they trailed with a point in the event that has attracted 129 boxers from 12 clubs. The inaugural event on Uganda Amateur Boxing Federation (UABF) calendar involves boxers aged 17-19. The top contenders include Katwe and Lukanga with 20 boxers each, and St Mary’s Kyengera with 18. Other clubs are KCC, Serwadda, Scorpions, Seguku, Kawempe, Kololo High and Entebbe. Ends
