By Ahmed Angulibo THE Yumbe LC5 interim chairman, Mr. Ali Aluma, has written to the Ministry of Disaster Preparedness and Refugees for relief food to arrest the tragic famine situation in the district. The famine claimed nine people between July and August 7. Aluma’s August 12 letter, was addressed to the second deputy Prime Minister and minister for disaster preparedness, Brig. Moses Ali. Aluma said the famine was a result of prolonged sunshine in most parts of Romogi sub-county. He said, “Most people in some parts of the district look sick, weak and emaciated by the famine.”
