HIMA town authorities in Kasese district recently rounded up over 30 school children for dodging school.

By John Thawite HIMA town authorities in Kasese district recently rounded up over 30 school children for dodging school. The area youth chairman, Robert Bwabwera, said the arrested children were aged between 6-17 years. He said the children’s parents had been summoned to appear before the area LC1 court for questioning over the alleged sabotage of the Universal Primary Education (UPE) programme. “The operation to round up loitering children follows increasing day time theft and hooliganism in the area reportedly committed by idle children,” Bwabwera said. He said some children were found with exercise books suggesting that they were pupils dodging school. Bwabwera said they would meet the children’s parents to establish the cause for dodging school.
