A release signed by the group’s spokesperson, Beti Kamya said, “We are left with no option but to insist that Government must be aware of Col. Besigye’s whereabouts and to demand for his immediate and unconditional release.” The group also asked the Government to stop harassing members of Col. Besigye’s family and friends. “In any case, if Col. Besigye is on the run for his life and hiding somewhere for safety, government must still take the moral responsibility for hounding an innocent and patriotic man out of his house and away from his family,” Besigye’s group said. The group hit at the CMI chief Lt. Col. Noble Mayombo and Ofwono Opondo of NRM Secretariat and others for “publicly declaring, in the media, government suspicion of Col. Besigye’s involvement with rebel activities, without even attempting to prove their information,” it added. Ends
