KASESE — Police in Maliba sub-county, Busongora North, have arrested three men over alleged bestiality with goats. The LC3 chairperson Maliba sub-county, Sam Sikabyaholho, confirmed the incident last week. He said it occurred at Kyanya village, but did not name the suspects. Sikabyaholho said that the suspects had been arrested by the Kyanya village LCs after receiving the report from the villagers. He declined to name the suspects, saying police was still investigating and preparing to take them for medical examination. A number of LCs from the area alleged that the practice of men having canal knowledge with goats was not new in the area. They said that about two year ago, there had been a similar case on the same village of Kyanya. A police source in Maliba said that bestiality cases in the sub county were not strange but common. The source said that the three suspects arrested on August 21, 2001, would be taken to court after investigations are completed.
