UGANDA could soon host Africa’s top golf competition. Uganda Golf Union (UGU) sources recently revealed that the union plans to apply for one of the African Golf Circuit legs.

UGANDA could soon host Africa’s top golf competition.
Uganda Golf Union (UGU) sources recently revealed that the union plans to apply for one of the African Golf Circuit legs.
“All we require, are sponsors,†said the source explaining that UGU’s confidence sprouts from Uganda’s success in staging the All Africa Ladies Challenge and the East Africa Challenge.
Applications for the African circuit are made to the European Professional Golf Association. The annual competition is staged in legs starting in Morocco, Cote D’Ivoire, Nigeria, Kenya, Zimbabwe, South Africa and Bostwana. The competition attracts professionals from all over the world.
“After the Kenyan leg, it would be good the next competition is staged in Uganda,†said the source after Uganda won the East Africa Challenge. Besides the competition, Uganda will also be targeting a boost in tourism.
