By Reuben Olita and Samson Opus Nairobi-bound KCC boxing club survived a scare, after the bus they were booked left them in Kampala. The bus later returned and picked them up. Team manager Reobam Sebikejje who was supposed to direct the driver had reportedly gone to the toilet at the bus terminal when the bus left with his luggage on board. The 10-man squad that was waiting at Lugogo on Jinja road, were amazed when the Akamba bus zoomed past with only the manager’s brief case loaded with their Inter-Cities championship allowances. Sebikejje had to hire a car to chase the bus, which he found near Mukono. The bus returned to Kampala. Meanwhile, Nairobi made three changes as they prepared to face defending champions Kampala in the second leg of the inter-cities boxing contest at the Madison Square Garden in Nakuru. Nairobi have included three players who helped Police boxing club recapture the national league title this year. They are welterweight Absolom Okinyi, lightweight Peter Kusimba and bantam Thomas Kasimba. r LIGHT middleweight Hamza Wandera (UPDF) wasted no sweat as he handed a devastating knockout to Fred Tamale (Police) in the Nyangweso Cup at Lugogo yesterday. UPDF remained buoyant with eight points, three ahead of Basajjabalaba Hides and Skins (BHS). ends
