Nakapiripirit wants peace

By James Odong THE new district of Nakapiripirit has launched an initiative to foster peace and development in the district and Karamoja region. The Nakapiripirit Civil Society Organisation Network was formed following a two-day human rights and democratisation workshop organised by DANIDA. The network is to spearhead and promote social and economic development in the district through a co-ordinated approach with government departments, NGOs and development partners in the district. Speaking at the organisation’s launch recently, RDC Peter Keen Lochap asked the Karimojong to observe the rights of others first before they could demand for their protection and rights.
