Naiga Advises Disabled To Participate In Sports

THE State minister for the elderly and the disabled, Florence Nayiga Sekabira, has called upon the disabled students to participate in university activities.

By Fortune Ahimbisibwe THE State minister for the elderly and the disabled, Florence Nayiga Sekabira, has called upon the disabled students to participate in university activities. She said this recently at a function organised by the Makerere University Disabled Students Association at the university campus. Sekabira thanked the Government for its interest in people with disabilities. “Despite its limited resources, the Government has tried to address the problems of the disabled,” Sekabira said. She commended the Government’s affirmative action that gives higher chances to people with disabilities to join university. She advised the students to lay strategies to achieve better goals in life. The Dean of Students, John Ekudu, said the University Council had come up with a policy to address their needs. Ends
