HERAT - Some 200 people demonstrated in the western Afghanistan city of Herat in support of exiled King Zahir Shah on Wednesday, only to be moved on by mujahideen fighters loyal to warlord Ismail Khan.

HERAT - Some 200 people demonstrated in the western Afghanistan city of Herat in support of exiled King Zahir Shah on Wednesday, only to be moved on by mujahideen fighters loyal to warlord Ismail Khan. “Long live Zahir Shah,” the protesters chanted in the garden outside the city’s main mosque, the Masjid-e Jami. They moved on peacefully when dozens of Khan’s forces arrived. Shortly afterwards Khan arrived at the mosque and addressed a meeting of elders and senior clerics. Ends
