MUK Don Slams Terrorist Bill

The Dean Faculty of Law, Makerere University, Oloka Onyango, has said the Terrorist Bill before Parliament is bad and biased. He said there was no need to rush to pass the Bill when the Government faced more pressing issues like poverty alleviation.

He said there was no need to rush to pass the Bill when the Government faced more pressing issues like poverty alleviation. Oloka, while addressing the press on the coming annual law conference to be held between November 22 and 23, at the Faculty of Law, said the Bill was meant to oppress those opposed to wrong government policies. “The Bill violates all forms of human rights and is not careful about the rule of law,” Oloka said, adding that care should be taken when drafting serious Bills.
