By Sewanyo Kiganda THE electoral Commission on Thursday re-demarcated Electoral areas for councillorship in Njeru town, Mukono district. This follows an outcry by voters who said the zones were not in conformity with the Local Government Act. The Mukono district Registrar, Mr. Godfrey Kisekka, communicated the move during a meeting attended by aspirants and the Njeru Town Clerk Mr P.K. Waligi. Aspirants who had earlier been nominated will now be required to undergo the exercise again. Kisekka said basing on Njeru’s population as indicated in the 1991 census, there would now be 10 directly elected councillors and seven women seats. These will be joined by two youth and two people with disabilities. Nominations for lower councils started last Tuesday and were scheduled to end on Friday.
