LWF, an international humanitarian organization, is to commence an Emergency/ Humanitarian Project to assist the displaced persons in Katakwi District.
LWF, an international humanitarian organization, is to commence an Emergency/ Humanitarian Project to assist the displaced persons in Katakwi District. To carry out its responsibilities, LWF invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill three positions of PROJECT CO-ORDINATOR, ACCOUNTANT and ADMINISTRATOR. The successful applicants will be full time based in Katakwi.
PROJECT CO-ORDINATOR
Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Representative, the Project Co-ordinator will be responsible for:
u Overall management, planning, implementation, monitoring, administration, financial management and
budgeting, and reporting of project work/activities;
u Promote good relations with the district, other NGOs with related activities, churches, local leaders and the
local population;
u Performing other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
Masters degree in a related technical area preferred with not less than five years of experience in
humanitarian /emergency work, cultural sensitivity and adaptability.
Professional skills
Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to work with different partners, including government, communities, local and international NGOs; Ability to work in difficult circumstances with minimum supervision; knowledge of various computer software programs an advantage;
PROJECT ACCOUNTANT
Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Project Co-ordinator, the Accountant will:
u Ensure that all financial transactions are in accordance with existing financial provisions of the project and
within the project budget, and advise the Project Co-ordinator and the project staff on matters pertaining to
finances and financial management.
u Prepare and maintain proper payment vouchers with all supporting documents for identification and maintain
a daily ledger book in which all financial transactions are recorded and properly balanced;
u Prepare and submit monthly accounts to the head office
u Any other duties as assigned by the Project Co-ordinator.
Personnel Specification
A minimum of a University Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Accounting, or similar academic qualifications from professional Institutions as CPA, ACCA, CIMA etc.
Proven working experience in Accounting or financial management preferably in a non-governmental organisation of not less than three years is essential.
ADMINISTRATOR
Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Project Co-ordinator, the Administrator will be responsible for:
u Manage day-to-day administrative operations and co-ordinate with the Project Co-ordinator on all personnel
and administrative matters;
u Provide support and guidance to various administrative functions and ensure proper implementation of staff
appraisal, training and development;
u Receive project inputs and assist in identifying beneficiary families;
u Carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the Project Co-ordinator
Qualification and experience:
A minimum of a University Degree in Social Administration with not less than five years experience in a similar position, preferably with an NGO. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Computer literacy will be an added advantage.
