Eleven more Ebola patients were discharged yesterday, bringing to 107 the number of patients who have fully recovered from the disease, reports Charles Wendo. A health ministry statement said the death toll had risen to 75 after two more patients were reported dead yesterday. Another 15 were admitted, raising the cumulative number of Ebola cases to 239 since the beginning of the epidemic. The chairman of the national Ebola task force, Dr. Sam Okware, said those who had recovered would not infect others. But he said they were advised to abstain from sex for at least one month since sexual fluids might contain the virus even when it is no longer present in blood. He said investigations were being done on the possibility of sexual transmission and the Ebola survivors should improve their nutrition. Ends.
