SHE Kobs patron Mary Nsangi Kakembo, who is also State minister for youth and child affairs, will lead the national women soccer team that jets out tomorrow for South Africa.

By Vision Reporter SHE Kobs patron Mary Nsangi Kakembo, who is also State minister for youth and child affairs, will lead the national women soccer team that jets out tomorrow for South Africa. The team will be in Johannesburg for the African Women's Nations Cup finals. Manager Mariam Nsumba named a squad of 18 for the trip. They are: Olive Mbekeka-captain, Rehema Namatovu, Margaret Nagudi Lutalo, Harriet Kayonjo, Doreen Apolot, Majidah Nantanda, Annet Nakimbugwe, Rebecca Nakato, Sylvia Naggawa, Faridah Kisitu, Fatuma Luwedde, Rebecca Nakatte, Fatuma Manashe, Robinah Nakintu, Agnes Namata, Asha Mande, Alaisha Nakanwagi and Racheal Babirye. Star striker Jane Nanjekye was dropped because of an injury. Head coach Sam Timbe, manager Nsumba, physician Julius Walugembe plus team leader Tom Kihika would make the trip. She Kobs opens its African title campaign with Zimbabwe on November 11, face South Africa November 14 and Reunion on Saturday. The final is due November 25. The Nigerian Falcons are confident of retaining their African women's title next week in South Africa. The Falcons won the inaugural African Women's Nations Cup title in 1998. Ends.
