* Regional netball final a Kenya versus Tanzania affair By Samson Opus NIC (Ug) 35 Telkom (Ken) 36 Bandari (TZ) 43 Posta (Ug) 37) KENYA Telkom earned themselves a place in the East Africa netball club championship through the luck of a centre ball toss. The tie-breaker was used after Telkom's semifinal tie with Uganda's National Insurance Corporation (NIC)- the reigning regional champions- ended in a 35-35 draw at Nakivubo stadium yesterday. Telkom booked a final berth today against Bandari, who beat Uganda's Posta 43-37 to set up a Tanzania-Kenya climax. NIC took the early lead 10-6, 16-13 in the tension-packed game yesterday, before Telkom took charge after levelling the score 33-33 in the third quarter. The Kenyan champions exploited their superior height advantage . Shooter Michel Achieng and Roseline Kamonya propelled Telkom with 26 and 16 goals respectively while Sarah Namuddu and Florence Amongin propped NIC with 16 and 13. In the later semifinal, Posta failed to match the fast Bandari side who stormed into the lead from the first quarter 13-9, 24-16 and 33-24. Jemisina Mwaluko (19) Aisha Ibrahim (14) and Muhagama Matalena (10) led Bandari's chart while Tabitha Seera top scored for Posta with 19. The Kenyan players shed tears of joy. "Yesterday the referees were not good. We are happy we have won. We are very happy about it," said Roseline Kamonya. Telkom coach-cum player Roselyn Kamonya promised a tough fight against Bandari for the title. Ends.
