JUSTICE Julia Sebutinde blasted prison bosses on Tuesday for failure to produce prisoners in court on time, reports Isaac Kiyingi. "I am tired of that nonsense of transport problems, even people up-country are better than you yet they do not have transport for prisoners. Do prison buses first fetch matooke for your bosses," Sebutidde asked as she left the court. Sebutinde, presiding over a criminal session, was reacting to several delays in bringing prisoners to court for trial. "I dressed a long time ago waiting for prisoners. I come, still you have not produced them. Let me go, when you produce them, you call me again," she told the warder at 9.40 am and left for her chambers. When Richard Wabulwa, on defilement charges, was brought at 10.00am, the warder told the court that the first bus had left them behind because it was full. He said they started fetching prisoners at 9.00am. Sebutinde advised the prisons authority to start fetching the prisoners at 6.00am. Ends.
