The senior national soccer side Cranes were outplayed in front of their fans at Nakivubo, reviving fears Uganda never makes it far when they host. Cranes only moment in the limelight came early. A move involving Edgar Watson, Andrew Mukasa and a Ibrahim Buwembo cross, enabled Hassan Mubiru to open the scores in the 3rd minute. The rest of the game belonged to Ethiopia. Diminutive Sintayehu Hetacheu haunted the hosts, with his inter-passing game with Hussen Seman- scorer of the second goal- and Michael Abreka.. Solomon Andargachew had put Ethiopia level. Cranes midfield felt the absence of ill Hakim Magumba, with Jamil Kyambadde an on-looker and Mohammed Nsubuga reduced to defensive play. Veteran defender George Ssemogerere saved the day for Cranes when he nodded in a dying-minutes equaliser. Cranes, return to action today against Djibouti. History is also in Uganda's favour if the 8-1 whipping by Express FC of Djibouti's Forces National in 1995, is anything to go by. Ends.
