PRESIDENT Yoweri Museveni yesterday said the Government and the National Resistance Movement will support the family of former Prime Minister, George Cosmas Adyebo, who died on Sunday, reports A. G. Musamali. Museveni was speaking to mourners at a requiem mass at Lubaga Cathedral yesterday. The mass was led by Cardinal Emmanuel Wamala. Information minister Basoga Nsadhu was the master of ceremonies, while Jovino Akaki, the State minister for tourism, wild life and antiquities, spoke on behalf of the Lango Parliamentary Group. Among other dignitaries present were Deputy Chief Justice Seth Manyindo, Prime Minister Apolo Nsibambi, ministers Mayanja Nkangi, Ruhakana Rugunda, Betty Okwir, Brig. Moses Ali, Francis Babu, and Mondo Kagonyera. Adyebo is to be buried today at his home in Nambieso, Apac district. His body was flown by helicopter from Kololo Airstrip yesterday afternoon. Museveni said whereas Kwania county had lost a leader, there would soon be a by-election in which another one would be elected. But he said there can never be any by-election to choose a new head for the late Adyebo's household. He said that was why the real losers who deserve support after this calamity were the members of the family. "The Movement and the Government will do everything to look after those children," Museveni said. The President said the Government had for long known what was wrong with Adyebo's health and had assisted whenever possible. However, he said there were too many people who claimed to know everything and had been accusing everybody for not caring enough. Ends.
