THE International Tennis Federation (ITF) has withdrawn from Uganda the ITF East Africa Under 18 circuit 2000 scheduled for early next month due to the deadly Ebola virus that has hit some parts of the country reports Douglas Mazune.

THE International Tennis Federation (ITF) has withdrawn from Uganda the ITF East Africa Under 18 circuit 2000 scheduled for early next month due to the deadly Ebola virus that has hit some parts of the country reports Douglas Mazune. "Following the outbreak of the Ebola virus in Uganda, ITF has decided to move the second leg of the East Africa circuit December 11-16 to Mombasa, Kenya," an ITF letter that The New Vision saw said. The letter was addressed national associations, of Burundi, Uganda, Ethiopia, France, Israel, Nigeria, Rwanda, Seychelles, Slovakia, Somalia, South Africa, Sudan, Tanzania and Zimbabwe. "We have been continuously monitoring the situation in since the outbreak and from reports of the outbreak having spread between the Kenya border and Kampala, we have decided to move the leg. We apologise for any inconvenience caused," the letter from ITF development department explained. Ends.
