Delayed payment irks city cleaners

By Catherine Kigozi THERE are heaps of uncollected garbage on the streets of Kampala as the Company contracted to clean the city complained of delayed payments. Bison Company is responsible for cleaning the City. Kampala Town clerk Gordon Mwesigye told The New Vision on Monday the Central Division had not paid Bison for a period he did not specify. He declined to give the amount involved. He said, "Yes I have heard about that complaint and responsible members have reported the issue to my office. I'm yet to meet with Central Division to discuss the garbage problem in the city." "The public should note that it is not KCC's responsibility to pay Bison," he said. Ends
