PRESIDENTIAL aspirant Al-hajji Nasser Sebaggala yesterday said if elected next year, he will pardon Maj. Gen. Salim Saleh, Brig. Jim Muhwezi and others implicated in the Sebutinde Report if found guilty of corruption, writes Kezio D Musoke. Sebaggala also collected about 600 signatures for his nomination as presidential candidate from different parts of Mubende district. "I will forgive people like Salim Saleh, who we all know stole millions like during the UCB scandal in which he was highly involved and the mass property he owns which is not accounted for," Sebaggala said. "For purposes of development, I will also pardon those implicated in the Sebutinde report like Muhwezi and others who have marched away with extortion and smuggling," he said. He said fellow aspirant Dr. Kiiza Besigye is wrong to advocate taking those implicated in corruption to court, saying this would discourage reconciliation. "Why should Museveni run away to exile? Why shouldn't Obote come back home because he has committed crime. We all know Museveni has committed numerous crimes, but I will forget all about that," he added. He also promised to promote local languages. Ends.
