By Florence Nakayi A woman, 68, conned some Nakulabye girls by promising them potions to lure men. The old woman, who usually brings potions to these girls, this time disappeared with around sh300,000 from six girls who wanted love potions for the Christmas holidays. Unfortunately, the woman who was expected to turn up after two days never appeared at all. This forced them to go hunting for her before Christmas. When one of the girls walking in Nakulabye, she met the woman. The woman said she had been ill and that is why she was unable to bring the potions. She then suggested they go to her home with the girl. She would give her the love potions. They walked to a house in Makerere Kivulu, a slum of many winding alleys. The woman told the girl to wait at a distance. She said she had a mad brother in her house who did not like seeing strange faces. A minute turned into an hour. By this time, the girl was very suspicious. She decided to put on a brave face and ask the neighbours whether they knew the old woman or any mad man around. The neighbours told her there was no one of the description she gave. It is then that it finally dawned on her that the old woman had conned them. Ends.
