THE Uganda Athletics Federation has named a team of 31 athletes, including former world champion Dorcus Inzikuru, to prepare for the World Cross Country Championships.
The world event is due next month in Spain, but the federation is still grappling with lack of funds to put the team in camp.
But missing on the tentative list are Ben Toroitich who finished fourth in the senior men at the national event in Jinja last Saturday, and former world junior bronze medallist Benjamin Kiplagat.
Former junior bronze medallist Moses Kibet will join the senior men team that starts training next week in Kapchorwa. Inzikuru, despite finishing eighth at the national event, has been given a chance on the women senior team.
A coach to handle the team is yet to be named.
The good news to the federation however is that Brussels Airlines is ready to fly the team at a discounted rate as they will do for Kenya and hopefully Rwanda and Tanzania.
