SPENCON Services has won the tender to upgrade the Atiak-Moyo-Afoji road. The road is to receive a tarmac surface.
The Uganda National Roads Authority's publicist Dan Alinange, the publicist, said the first phase of the project would cost sh15.9b.
The contract will involve construction of bridges at Ayugi and Irei. Major box culverts will be constructed at Eyi-Ingewa, Surumu, Lower Cala, Upper Cala, Amua and Ebikwa.
He said the contractor is mobilising to commence work after instructions were issued last December.
The works will last 12 months.
