SHOUTS of joy and excitement filled Kibingo Girls’ secondary school in Sheema district as students saw their library boosted with a consignment of textbooks.

The books, worth over sh6.8m, were donated by the Rotary club of Bushenyi in partnership with the Rotary clubs of Tallequa and Southside, both in the US.

Handing over the books, USA Sister Ephrance Nuwamanya, a Rotarian, said the only way to help girls improve their academic standards was to equip them with research materials.

She encouraged the girls to work hard in order to excel. The headmistress, Allen Kiyasimire, said the school library did not have enough textbooks to meet the students’ academic needs, yet the school could not afford to buy them.

“With such a boost, there is no excuse now. We shall produce good results,” she added.
