THE body of Richard Aceda, a Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) party official in Kitgum district, was on Monday found half-buried in a potato garden.
Richard Aceda, the UPC branch finance secretary and a member of the party district executive, was found with a deep cut on the back of the head with the brain spilling out.
A security official, Alfred Omara, told New Vision that the body was found near the former Labuje IDP camp in Layamo sub-county, in a potato garden belonging to Jonathan Olworo, the LC1 chairman of Town Central ward.
Former UPC Kitgum district chairman, Luwum Daramoi, said Aceda was last seen on Friday at his daughter’s home in Corner Mission, located near Labuje.
“He had visited his daughter and on Friday evening, he informed her that he was going to the home of Luka Nyeko to attend his victory party,†Daramoi said. When asked why the daughter did not report about the father’s disappearance to authorities, she said she thought that her father had returned to his home in Corner Alango, a town suburb.
