THE National Resistance Movement has won three out of the four seats for youth Members of Parliament.
Elections were conducted yesterday in different parts of the country.
Evelyn Anite (NRM) has won the youth MP seat for northern Uganda. She replaces Denis Obua, the MP elect for Ajuri County in the new Aleptong district.
Peter Ogwang (NRM) defeated 4 other contestants to take the eastern region slot. The elections were held at the widowâ€™s conference hall in Soroti town. He replaces Zake Kibedi.
Patrick Nakabale (NRM) is the new youth MP for the central region. He emerged victorious in a hotly contested race held at Masaka. He replaces Kasozi Muyomba, the NRM parliamentary caucus spokesperson.
An independent candidate Gerald Karuhanga took the western region seat.
He was announced the winner by the Kabarole district returning officer, Suleiman Kato on Thursday morning at Kagote SDA hall in Fort Portal town. He defeated his closest rival, the NRM candidate Dr Agrey Kyobuguzi by 4 votes.
