THREE Ugandans are expected to attend the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton in London next Friday.

The three lucky Ugandans are the Archbishop of York, Dr. John Sentamu, and his wife plus the Ugandan high commissioner in London, Joan Rwabyomere.

Rwabyomere has been invited to represent Uganda and like other heads of missions in London, she will only attend the wedding service.

She is, however, not allowed to go along with a partner or any other companion.

Missing on the guest list is US president Barrack Obama and French president Nicolas Sarkozy, who the royal family said would be expensive to take care of in terms of security. Also not invited are former British prime ministers Tony Blair and Gordon Brown.

The exclusion of the two has caused controversy in the UK.

Invitation to the royal wedding has been issued in the name of Her Majesty The Queen.
