LONG distance runner Tony Okello’s chances of qualifying for the World Athletics Championships hit a snag when he came short of the grade again.

LONG distance runner Tony Okello’s chances of qualifying for the World Athletics Championships hit a snag when he came short of the grade again.

He clocked 28 minutes 23.89 seconds to finish third in the Payton Jordan Cardinal Invitational meet in Stanford, California Sunday.

Okello is fighting to hit the 28 minutes qualifying mark for the world meet due in August in Daegu, Korea.

He was beaten by Abilene Christian and Shimizu Daisuke in the one day event.
