Opposition MPs walk out

President Museveni has said that the enactment of the controversial Land Act made him so popular in the recent elections.
The Opposition Members of Parliament walked out of the Serena hotel conference hall when President Yoweri reiterated his government's commitment to fight corruption.
As they walked out, the President commented, "I hope we have quorum to continue with the business".
The President had earlier hailed the army for quelling the recent walk -to -work demonstrations called by the opposition.
"The army has done well in helping the Police put out demonstrations. Any illegal demonstration will be handled firmly and precisely under the law," Museveni warned.
He said the enactment of the controversial Land Act made him so popular in the recent elections.
the President said those who opposed it lost out in the elections adding that the Land Act has ensured the safety of ‘bibanja’ owners and reduced land evictions.
In his State-of-The Nation address to Parliament, Museveni said the garbage block the sewerage system and cause floods in the city.
