Africa Kickboxing title
Golola (Ug) v A. Quadir (Sudan)

UGANDAN Moses Golola is more vocal, muscular and visibly bigger but that is not all it takes to win a kicking boxing match.

That 26-year-old Sudanese Abdul Quadir is undefeated in eight fights, taller, younger and above all handled by renowned coach Puro ‘father’ Okello, should worry Golola’s multitude of fans expected to throng Hotel Africana this evening.

The soft-spoken Quadir who came face-to-face with Golola at an animated pre-fight press conference at Hotel Africana expressed determination to upstage the vocal Ugandan.

“We know Golola so well and we wouldn’t underrate him. I am here to enjoy myself in the ring and take the belt home,” Quadir stated.

In his typical showy style Golola, donning replica American military fatigue, walked into the press conference 30 minutes late shouting incoherent self-praises — drawing the media attention and laughter in equal measure.

The 31-year-old promised his fans
a convincing victory.
“I can’t stand life in the village again, I have to beat this man to stay in town and enjoy a superstar life with my fans. I love my opponent because he has come all the way from Sudan to make my dream come true. I would rather die in the ring,” Golola boasted. The winner will compete in the Africa Kickboxing Cup in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on October 18.
