SOURCES close to the top management of Efendy’s bar have intimated to us that the bar’s Turkish owner Melih Askay has put it on the market and wants to cash in.

Apparently, some sources in Centenary Park say the increasing competition among bars in this place has forced him to cash out and move into other businesses.
We hear the asking price is the neighbourhood of $300,000 (over sh600m). But snoops say the offers that have been coming in are in the neighbourhood of sh120m including good will. But we are keeping our ear to the ground.
