IT was a craft accessory moment at the sixth fashion night, at Club Volts last Saturday. The fashion night that was started in January by Kizito Rosco Esco, who happens to have emceed at a number of fashion nights in various clubs in town, was intended to spread the fashion spirit to a down-town audience.

This particular fashion night saw the 22-year-old Stella of Stella Artistic Creations showcase her accessory and outfit designs.

At 11:30pm, the runway was lit up with blends and tones of earrings, handbags, clutch purses, necklaces, bracelets, belts, shoes and outfits that were weaved out of toned dried palm tree leaves (ensasa).

The first model sported a white Caribbean dress that was accessorised with a cream-pink draft shoulder bag, earrings, and belt weaved out of dried palm leaves.

Revellers were so impressed that when the showcase was done, one couple bought the bag instantly.

Another of her palm leaf creations that was eye-catching was the lady waist coat that was neatly weaved at the breast area. The coat was worn over a day look, black fade short skirt and the long black sleeved silk blouse.

Stella’s maroon print floral max dress that the model donned with a maroon craft hat and bag weaved out of palm leaves was another popular item.

Among other designs showcased were the chokers detailed with ribbon knots, bracelets, money purses, hand bags, hats and bold dangling earrings all weaved out of different colours of dried palm leaves.
