THE Police are still investigating the circumstances under which a newborn baby boy died at Gulu Hospital last month.
The baby reportedly died due to excessive bleeding hours after a nurse allegedly put him in an incubator with his umbilical cord not “properly tiedâ€.
The baby was delivered by caesarean section at 9:00pm after his mother, Patience Adong, developed complications.
The Police and the Ministry of Health immediately instituted investigations into the death.
The hospital authorities have, however denied allegations of negligence.
Northern regional Police chief Martin Amoru said investigations were still going on because the case involved a lot of scientific technicalities and needed a lot of time.
