Sunday: Angola v Uganda

CRANES’ Nations Cup qualifying opponents Angola are a side suffering from a lack of confidence – an area coach Bobby Williamson’s side could capitalize on to earn glory on Sunday.

And if Cranes need confirmation of that and how to get the better of the Palancas Negras during Sunday’s Nations Cup qualifier, a phone call to any member of the DR Congo team would do wonders.

On Saturday in Dundo, DR Congo exposed the host nation in a 2-1 win in the friendly match to celebrate the 69th anniversary of the Angolan President, Jose Eduardo dos Santos.

If the game was meant to indicate anything, it was that Cranes, who travel to Congo Brazzaville, stand a chance of plundering the result they need to guarantee qualification to the 2012 Africa Cup Finals.

The Cranes are already riding high on confidence following the arrival of foreign-based stars Geoffrey Massa, Andrew Mwesigwa, Nestroy Kizito and Geoffrey Sserunkuuma yesterday.

The four and Simeon Masaba, Vincent Kayizzi, Mike Mutyaba, Godfrey Walusimbi and Owen Kasule will leave tonight for their four-day training camp in Congo before crossing over to Luanda on Friday evening.
