PRESIDENT Yoweri Museveni on Sunday paid a surprise visit to opposition Soroti County MP Peter Omolo who is also admitted at Sorori hospital.

He also checked on the former Obote I minister Cuthbert Obwangor in the same hospital.

Both Omolo and Obwangor are admitted at the private wing in charge of Dr. Joseph Epodoi.

Omolo was admitted on Saturday after suffering severe headache, vomiting and body weakness, according to Dr. Epodoi.

“I thank the President for visiting me despite being an opposition MP. That is the politics we want,” Omolo said.

Museveni recently visited Kitugm woman MP Beatrice Anywar in the hospital when she sustained injuries following a motor accident.

Obwangor fell ill at his home in Soroti municipality last week and was rushed to the main hospital where he is being treated for prostate cancer.

Speaking to New Vision a day after the president visited him Obwangor, described the visit as gesture of love and care the President has for him.

“I am happy for the President to spare his time to visit me at my hospital bed. I feel well now and I wish him also well,” Obwangor said with a smile.
