THE Kyambogo Warriors have been masters at feeding off lapses in concentration this season.

It is why they have been the best team in the FUBA men’s top flight, the reason they snatched victory from Power in the finale of the regular season Sunday.

Eric Malinga scored a team-high 17, Henry Malinga and Ivan Enabu added 16 and 15 points as the Warriors overturned a five-point deficit in the last minute to stun Power 96-94 and clinch top seeding for the playoffs.

Power were led by Ben Komakech with a game-high 19 points and Isaac Luggude with 18. Luggudde should have really won the game for Power when he found himself with a clear run to the basketball with just over a minute to play and Power leading 94-89.

But Luggudde, who had done especially well in the fourth quarter, got a rush of blood to the head. Rather than simply put the ball in pen, Luggudde wanted to accompany his layup with a loud board tap.  He made the tap but missed the lay up. The Warriors immediately went the other end and drained a three-pointer to cut the lead to two. Two controversial decisions sent Kyambogo to the line thereafter, giving them a 96-94 victory.
