I know that you have heard about the supposed fashion rules. Where you have been told you cannot wear gold with silver. You cannot wear feathers on your head. You cannot wear this or wear that.

However, Josephine Nakaggwa, a jeweller asks what is fashion and style anyway if you cannot risk it? She says being different and unique shouldn’t raise eyebrows. Nakaggwa says that one thing she knows is that you can make gold and silver jewellery work well together. "I have seen a number of fashion designers like David Yurman and David Tishbi combine the gold and silver jewellery to come up with two-toned jewellery pieces either in bracelets, rings and necklaces."

she notes that the blend of gold and silver sure looks stylish, elegant and glimmering.

Nakaggwa says you could wear the two-toned (gold & silver) bracelets or necklaces over any printed outfit or just plain single tone of fabrics in all their textures and still look fashionable and stylish. Regardless of sex or age, she says you can also wear one silver chain bracelet with a gold chain bracelet all at ago, but still pull it off. She adds that the blend created by the two-toned chains is rather magnificent. It can be compared to perfection!

She says that one can blend the thin-silver diamond bracelet with a blond gold chain bracelet. The difference in sizes (thin and blond) interlocked with each other creates a glimmering look especially under the lights.

Nakaggwa says that the mix up of gold and diamond silver pieces can also be applied to the necklaces or rings. She explains that the silver diamond ring blended with gold always looks elegant and colorful no matter whether it’s a weeding or just a wear ring.

The silver diamond chain necklace, spiced up with a bolder gold chain necklace will always stand out too, she notes. “The neck area is lit up creating a million dollar look that would get anyone desiring to take a second look. Fashion is about what makes you look good and what makes you look as you desire.”

Nakaggwa advises fashion lovers never to be afraid to try out something new especially if it comes with mixing gold with silver jewellery.  “Break the rules! Nobody is going to stop you especially if it looks trendy. The fashion platform is free!”
