Former Vice-President Prof. Gilbert Bukenya has cautioned members of the Buganda parliamentary caucus against meeting the Katikkiro, J.B. Walusimbi, when ill-prepared.

Bukenya, the Busiro North MP, regretted that MPs from Buganda were not as united as those from other regions.

“We should avoid taking the Buganda caucus as a by-the-way. We must have both closed meetings for sensitive matters and open ones. Let us go to the Katikkiro when prepared and organised,” he said.

Bukenya made the remarks during a debate on the invitation Walusimbi extended to the members.

The Buganda caucus, under the leadership of Godfrey Kiwanda (Mityana North) and Latiff Ssebaggala (Kawempe North), is slated to meet the Katikkiro tomorrow.

Walusimbi invited the MPs four months ago so as to congratulate them upon their election to Parliament and to present key Buganda Kingdom issues they should push for.
