POLICE in Kampala have arrested a 32-year-old Muslim cleric for allegedly stealing a cow.

POLICE in Kampala have arrested a 32-year-old Muslim cleric for allegedly stealing a cow.

Kammadah Kiyingi, a resident of Lungujja was last Friday netted together with Edward Sentongo, a resident of Busega and Hassan Lubowa, a resident of Kosovo.

Lungujja residents said Kiyingi had always been chased from different mosques over theft. The owner of the cow, Abudalatif Bukenya, said: “I woke up at around 2:00am, only to find my cow missing. I looked for it and found these people slaughtering it from the bush.”

The officer in charge of Nateete police station, Inspector Wilson Salam said the three would be charged with theft after police investigations were completed.
