Motorists angry over Kotido road
Traders and truck drivers on the Soroti-Amuria-Abim-Kotido highway are angered over the poor state of the road. They said despite being extensively damaged by floods, no repairs had been done on the road. The Soroti-Amuria stretch, has developed wide potholes that have been filled with water. Ben Nvuyekule, a truck driver on the route, explained that the bad road had slowed movement on the route which had affected the delivery of goods to clients.

Iteso speak on Mukula’s top bid
The Iteso Cultural Union, (ICU), an umbrella body that brings together the Iteso, has described Mukula’s intentions to contest as the president of Uganda as premature. The Emorimor (cultural leader), Augustine Osuban, said Capt. Mike Mukula should have first consulted them over his plans to contest before going to the media. Mukula, who doubles as Soroti Municipality MP, declared his intentions to vie for the presidency during an interview with Saturday Vision while reacting to leaked comments he made to an American diplomat.
