These officers have been residing there since March. They were briefly taken away to the relief of most of us. On Monday, I was fortunate enough to miss a jet of saliva by a whisker from a policeman who was seated on the upper storey.

I was getting ready to 'assault' him verbally for spitting in the wrong place but he apologised immediately even before I could open my mouth. The scenario is absurd.

How can an officer who is supposed to keep law and order urinate from the top of the building into open space? When it gets dark beyond 7:30pm, it is common to see them as they do their 'irrigation'.

They have turned the whole place into one big urinal!
Whoever passes by the district headquarters can testify to the nauseating stench from the area. When the officers wash, the water keeps dripping down the whole day.

The entire neighbourhood is also littered with polythene bags and food leftovers. When I recall the infamous special Police constables that inhabited the Mandela National Stadium a few years ago and the mess they caused there, I am tempted to think that sloppiness is part of their curriculum!

The Inspector General of Police, Maj Gen Kale Kayihura is known to be a hands-on officer. I think these officers need his intervention for their own hygiene and that of the public.
