Local handball bodyboss Sheila Agonzibwa has promised to get sports legends on board in her efforts to reclaim the glory of the sport.

Agonzibwa who was also at the helm of Uganda Handball Federation (UHF) in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s, made the pladge during the launch of the beach handball yesterday at Clement Hill Hotel in Kampala.

“You cannot climb a mountain without knowing how and where to pass to reach the top. It’s the reason we have decided to call on board all those who ever took part in the sport,” explained Agonzibwa at the inaugural press briefing ever since her executive was voted into power in July this year.

The launch of the event set for October 1 at Sports Beach in Entebbe was also attended by handball legend and founder of the local sport in 1972, Nicholas Onegi, who also promised support.

“I believe they are on the right track now. I will do all I can to see that the sport reaches a competitive level like it was in our days,” Onegi said.
