THE Police in Busia are holding a bodaboda bicycle rider over his suspicious source of income. Daniel Musitwa of Nangwe village is reportedly renting a posh house in the town at sh500,000 per month.

“We suspect he is disguising as a bodaboda operator yet dealing with wrong elements,” said Bob Kagarura, the Busia district Police commander.

Godfrey Barasa, the Nangwe LC1 chief, said Musitwa from Butagaya village, Budondo sub-county in Jinja district, operates a bicycle taxi in Busia.

“Every morning, he rides to town. However, every evening unknown people visit him and drink. On some occasions, his visitors offload luggage and keep it at his home,” Barasa said.

“Civil servants rent houses at sh40,000 to sh80,000. How can Musitwa afford that of sh500,000 and even pay for six months in advance?” he asked.

During the Tuesday raid on his house, Police also discovered that Musitwa was sleeping in a bed worth sh6.5m. Musitwa told New Vision that he was suffering because of his money.
